This website talks about Nasa launching a space rocket that initially contained a satellite to be used for watching the planets. I found this really interesting because it shows how far we have come concerning outer space and how thankful we should be that leaps in technology allowed us to accomplish that feat. The article also shows us how technology can still evolve and there is room for greater things to come concerning technology. I am just amazed and cant get over how much information we can get in one outing.

We all heard about the movie 50 Shades of Grey, but did we know what we were getting into? I dam sure did not expect to see that freaky bondage sex lifestyle on display. I thought it was just another romance movie, but in reality, actually, I don't know what to think it is. Some girl signs her virginity away so a rich weirdo can beat the brakes off her at will, and somehow she likes it. The situation is so weird, dude makes her sign a "pre-nump" of sorts and she still bites down hard and takes beatings on a regular basis and like it.

I agree that the movie looks weird and the way the girl caters to his every need without ever realizing how gross and sick it looks adds to the discomfort. She is also attracted to him because his weird obsession for sexual desire that just screams Eww!. I also think that they need to get a room and some of the content from the book could be edited out making it not be a eww feeling for me.

I haven't read the book nor have I seen the movie, but one of my friends did and she was absolutely appalled by it. By the description of the book, I'm not surprised, but I can certainly understand why seeing it will shock you. I think that's what it is: It's not WHAT we're seeing that's so shocking, it's the fact that we're seeing it, that it's being shown to us. Television and movies are not what they used to be; more and more is being shown as the years increase and I don't think I want to know what will be available for my grandchildren to watch. That's like 'The Boy Next Door', Jennifer Lopez's new movie. I heard about the "steamy sex scene" but I did not know the extent of what they were going to show, but boy did I find out. Even worse than that was 'This is the End' and 'Top Five'....'Top Five' was horrible when it came to sex scenes; these things usually don't bother me, but I wanted to leave during that movie. These situations are just so uncomfortable.

In all honesty, anyone who was able to sit through reading those books -I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND YOU. Her writing style was horrible, and the entire premise of the books are absolutely absurd. The only thing going for these movies is the whole "rich billionaire lover" crap. I tried reading these back when they first came out due the insane amount of people who actually find this kind of "romance" novel enticing, and I actually ended up making a pretty nice bonfire out of them. The entire story is crap, and SPOILER ALERT: she just ends up pregnant in the end and that seems to "fix" all their ridiculous problems. But overall, I would not recommend anyone wasting an hour and half of their life to this stuff. I can see how anyone not familiar with these movies would be offended, or really creeped out by the whole saga. It's definitely not worth any of your time to see.

Twitter blew up this morning with the hashtag #IfYoureReadingThisItsTooLate after Drake dropped his new album. Also related, "too late" was trending as well as "Drake." I thought it was cool how he randomly released the album and it went viral immediately. I think it's funny that he's an artist who gets harassed and teased for being too "in his feelings" and he dropped his music the day before Valentine's Day. For all the lonely girls out there, Drake has your back tomorrow.

As a die hard Drake fan, I loved seeing the how the mixtape was trending all over the place. I was up when it dropped and I was up to witness the Twitter takeover; it was great. There's nothing better than being able to experience these things and watch them happen. In a matter of minutes the whole world was talking about the same thing.

It's so fascinating to find another avid NPR listener talk about how much they get out of it. I too love to pop on 91.7 and catch whatever I can whilst on my daily commutes. I find myself sitting in my car from time to time just soaking in whatever is on, long after I have put it in park. Not only do they really explore so many fascinating topics around the globe, but they also provide really good news for the U.S. too. I was unaware that it was #worldradioday on Friday, but I am really happy to hear someone else is a lover of radio/podcasts.

BBC Radio 1 personality and youtuber, Dan Howell, led an anti-online bullying radio show yesterday which led to the worldwide trend on twitter of #nicerinternet. The radio show itself was comprised of different youtube vloggers and gave information on how to deal with hate on the internet. The group gave out advice on how to tell the difference between online friendly banter and hate, how to use block or filtering functions on multiple sites, and they even explained the steps you would need to go through to report online harassment to the police. At the end of the show, Dan and friends asked listeners to #nicerinternet on twitter and write a pledge on how each individual can improve interactions on the internet. #nicerinternet trended for only a few hours, but I think that it was a great idea to bring up more awareness on how harmful online bullying can be to people, especially people that do put their names and faces out on social media platforms like youtube or tumblr.

I may be a little behind with this story, but I wanted to share it because I think it's a great social media campaign for a cause near and dear to my heart-adopting shelter pets! New Zealand's SPCA partner with MINI Cooper to teach shelter dogs how to drive. The You Tube video show how trainers built training "chairs" with controls that simulated sitting in the driver's seat of a MINI Cooper. Three dogs were taught to drive, Porter, Monty, and Ginny. The slogan is "Dogs this smart deserve a home" I think this is a very clever use of social media and a great campaign, please check it out!

Sorry, My post left out the most important part! The dogs are trained in simulation "chairs" with wheels. The steering wheel is padded for paws and there is a "start/ignition" and "brake" button. The trainers pull the "chair" as the dogs follows commands like "start," "turn," and "stop." After weeks of training the dogs drive a MINI-really!

This week I was procrastinating on buzzfeed when I saw an article labelled "19 Reasons Why Girls and Boys Should Definitely Have Different Toys". This immediately got my attention. Thankfully, the list is sarcastic, and actually highlights the different gendered products that are absolutely ridiculous. Take a look and see!

I took a look at this, and for the most part it was pretty good. The comments revealed some interesting debate over whether the blue and pink unlabeled products shown in the article could really count as being automatically made for boys and girls respectively, though. I would say, in the context of this article, such products should count due to the deep-seated cultural connotations of the colors, at least in America. Even if they don't say in words which gender each is for, if there are just two colors for a product, and one of those is pink and the other is blue, that visually indicates "girl" or "boy" to most American consumers.

I was browsing around for some trend or article I could write about when I stumbled across this on Buzzfeed. Apparently, a teenager was making rude and disparaging comments on Twitter about a job she was going to start the next day. The tweets eventually reached her boss and got her fired, right on Twitter, before she could even start the job. While the truth of this incident hasn't been 100% verified yet, the situation as presented is definitely interesting.

The recent Chapel Hill murders have been trending and the case has its own separate relationship to social media as well. Craig Stephen Hicks was arrested for shooting Deah Barakat, Yusor Mohammad, and Yusor’s sister Razan Mohammad Abu-Salh. The main motivator police are pursuing is repeated disputes over parking, though the family of the victims urges looking into the case as a hate crime and that angle is also being considered. It may not matter; with three first degree murders he's almost certainly looking at life in prison regardless of motive.

I found this case to be very troubling, and sad. I also did not know about how they are using his social media profiles to better understand who he was as a person, truly that is what social media is. The past couple of murders I have seen, at least with how the news displays these peoples' social media accounts, there are some problematic postings before the incidents. I guess it would be interesting to see if there would every be a way to use someones account to foreshadow an attack, although that gets into our amendments and privacy. It will be interesting to see how our accounts will be used in the future, like David said, "for better or worse".

So here is a video of a Transgender woman explaining why gender-neutral bathrooms need to become a thing. As shown in the video, West Hollywood is installing them and she’s hoping this trend continues to grow. She shares her experiences, explaining how she was shot in the eye for being in the women’s bathroom, which is absolutely insane. People are so cruel and I don’t understand how one can treat another like that.
